We had an incredibly beautiful and loving Sussex Rooster named Bob. Bob had been seen by the Salado Veterinary Hospital before for a case of Bumble Foot and Dr. Aaron Schultze was so helpful and explained how it was caused and what we could do as home remedies to cure our rooster’s feet. That was a couple years ago, and we had never forgot about this clinic. We were so glad they practice in the area of chicken health because they are exceptional in every aspect and display true compassion and professionalism. Bob became sick this year and was not acting right, not eating and had a hard time drinking. Come to find out Bob had a nasty growth in his throat that was slowly killing him, and we tried everything to include force feeding him until we were able to go to the Salado Vet Clinic, (Wuhan Virus closed the clinic and most visits were done in the parking lot dropping the pets off and waiting there to hear from the staff). It was there we discovered that Bob was already pretty much on his way to rooster heaven. The Doctor came outside and explained to me the diagnoses and even explained to my wife over the phone his recommendation to put Bob down. It was difficult on my wife since she loved this rooster so much as she does all our animals. Once Bob was euthanized the staff wrapped him, in such a caring manner, in a blanket so I could bring him home and allow my wife to say her goodbyes. A few days later the staff surprised us even more with a condolence card that had Bob’s footprint on it, and everyone personally signed this card😊 What a caring team at Salado Vet Clinic! We will always bring our chickens here in the future. Bless everyone at Salado Vet Hospital for the love they display for all animals. Thank you Dr. Schultze and your wonderful team!
